Hello all, You guys nailed the snow plow so now here are some front wheel weights i picked up. The set painted white have a number cast or stamped into them. the number is162097. The set painted black i was able to find one number in the casting. That was the number 5. As for the weight of these sets, i would guess each weight is 15 to 20 pounds but i am not sure on that just guessing. Thanks for any help, Rick

No idea on the black ones, but Bolens was what came to mind on the white ones here also. I'm sure someone will be along shortly who will know for sure.

I don't know what the black ones are.I think Bob is right, the white ones look to be Simplicity,I know they are not Bolens.

Yes, the white weights are Simplicity. They were part of their weight kits. I believe the kits were Mfg. #990449 for Simplicity and the weights came in white, while the kit form Allis-Chalmers was #1600012 and the weights were black. Both had the part number of the weight itself,162097, cast into the weight.

I have the same set of black ones but, mine don't have those things that look like clips.. They came with a Montgomery wards I have but, they weren't on the tractor when I got it. I dont know what they are either.

Thanks for the help. I wish one of the sets would have been a wheel horse set. I hope i did not pay to much for them. i know they will work on any tractor with 8 inch wheels but i was hoping to have some i could run on my horses. I only run WH products on my horses if it is one that others will see.I don't really care myself but i TRY to stay true to my wheel horse brand. So i guess the black ones still need to be identified. The going rate is about $1 / Lb. The rarer ones can sell for whatever someone's willing to pay. The weights that you're probably looking for will look like these ones.

WH rear weights.jpg WH front weights.JPG

The ones on the left are for the rear, the ones on the right for the front.
These will sell for a lot more than $1 / Lb. though. I've seen a complete set of these sell for $250!

Those were just random Google images LOL. I don't have a set...wish I did! Could've bought a set last last year for a decent price, but at the time it seemed excessive to me so I passed :mad2: I'll know better next time!

The black set is MTD. They are the weights that came with the rear bagger kit for 800 series garden tractors with 8 inch front wheels. When I worked for TSC I installed many sets of those onto 46" cut garden tractors for customers.

Thank you very much IHcubguy, Would you be able to tell me what the extra "ring" is for or how these would be mounted on the wheels?
