This is directed primarily at the Mods, because they are the ones who had to deal the most with this.

Because I was one of the biggest offenders here,I just wanted to apologise for all of the very short ,one and two words posts I've have made here.I did not realise it caused a lot of problems.I will do my very best to abide by the newly updated Site Guidelines.

Also, thanks to George for posting the updated Site Guidelines.

Keep up the good work.

I am one as well. I think we all have been guilty. Using the smileys is still okay, just add a bit more to them. And once in a while a single smiley will be okay. It just was getting out of hand.
Maynard, thank you for posting this.

We all have ducky. I too am going to try not to do so in the future, but as said, there are times that short replies are fitting, but we all need to use them sparingly. On a small site with few posts it's not an issue at all, and in fact good for a small site. But with large masses of posts, it can & does become a problem.

I don't think that any of us are innocent as I have done this myself! I have to say that it's disparaging when you see a thread has 3 or 4 pages of posts and go to it, only to find that 1/2 of them are one word entries or emoticons only.

...Looking forward to hearing more from you Maynard

The same goes for me Maynard! Glad to have you here!

Yes, I too must apologize. I didn't realize that it was such an issue. I will refrain from short posts as much as possible in the future. I know I have been more guilty since the new format came out because it seems so much easier to post.

I'm glad George put it out there in the manner he did.

I commend you Maynard, for taking the lead in making a point to address it the way you did. We all (or at least alot of us) follow your posts and comments with great interest. Thank you sir.

I am also guilty of short posts from time to time. Some would also say I ramble on a bit too long at times, like the time I... Woops got to watch that! I'm looking forward to hearing more from you in the future Maynard. With your experience in fabrication and your nice collection of GT's I'm sure there will be lots of topics that would benefit from your knowledge.

I am guilty too! Being new and having this awesome new format to the site I guess you could say I was Like a kid in a candy store and thought I had to post to every topic. I am sorry! I do see the trouble it causes, a post with good info can wind up being 5 pages and only 1 page worth would have the info you are looking for, and that one page worth is mixed in with the other 5 so you have to read them all. Thanks for bringing this up. and keep up the Great work! Chris

I also have been guilty as charged several/many times. I have also used the "Thanks" button to not only thank that poster but also to show that I agree with the original content of the thread.

Thanks,

This software has made it so easy to post, and I am most guilty of secondary posting... or the act of forgetting something I wanted to say and instead of editing a previous post... I grab a new one.

I have noticed that the post counts of everyone have increased drastically ever since we all got comfortable and familiar with this new software. So I think we should be thankful to George and the Staff for getting us all a better, more improved forum. George and the Staff wanted to make us one of the leading forums of the GT collecting community, and I believe they have succeeded. Post substantively guys, and keep having fun.

There are times when a short and informative post is fine. For instance, if you can answer someones question with a few words. I think everyone is getting a good feel for what we are trying to avoid.
