looks like you made some good progress today Kenny! Having a good place to work makes a HUGE difference! Keep us posted on your progress.

Except I have to take everything from here to use there. LOL

Good progress Kenny! That hood looks great BTW! What HP is the onan....16 or 18?

Daniel, I'm not sure. There is no ID tag on it. I'll have to pull a head and measure it,

Oh, yeah. Gotta have these tires. Once I get them filled, I'll have good traction.

Looking at the flywheel, I'd say it's a 16hp BF model Onan.

Daniel, just remember this is a repower. Not a normal Sears/Onan. It's either a B43M or B48M according to the Onan guru I talked to years ago.
Didn't get much progress today. Waiting on the e-tank to clean parts. Plus I worked on the 3-point. Want it ready before I paint the frame.

In pic #1, post #1, you can see some tee tie plates added to the sides for the grille braces. I fixed the problem causing the addition of these and welded up the holes drilled into the side panels today.

Fooled with a few small items and spent most of the day studying what i want to do here.

Looking good Kenny. Your coming right along. Sure would like to find one of those Onans to play with. We have 3 of them in our Miller portables, 20hp. Sweet motors.

Progress is slow with the 3-point on hold. I am going to see if I can figure out a way to lift the engine off the frame. Not many connection points on the Onan for lifting. And I don't remember how I got it on there years ago! Probably muscle power that I no longer have.
I did get the side panels and foot rests coated with the Rust Reformer. That needs 24 hrs. set up time. I have some more parts in the E-tank.

A bit more progress today! Got some parts out of the e-tank and coated with the Rust Reformer. Pulled the seat and stripped it down. It's getting a coat of Valspar rust reformer and then the Rustoleum RR.
Got the fender pan loose and looked into raising it up a bit. I can use some 1X1 square tube and get more tire clearance. I'll have to add metal to the bottom of the fenders where the footrests tie in, but it will help a lot.

The last pic shows the extra clearance gained.

This is the first I have gotten to work on this for a few days. I have parts coming, but may be the end of the week before I see them. Lee, hinges still haven't gotten here.

Very good Kenny, I may have to raise my fenders when I install the bigger tires on my GT18.
