Just completed painting my tank for my 1050. I started by using my die grinder with a wire wheel on it and stripped the tank to bare metal then wiped it down with laquer thinner. Then I put on four coats of etching primer let that dry over night. I found some Krylon Gloss leather brown of all places at Wal-mart. I started buy applying very lite coats waiting about two minutes between coats after about ten coats I'm done. I was told to let it dry for thirty days before installing it, spray paint in a can has no harding agent in it and will take that long to fully harden. I hope this helps others! Steve.......

That looks really good! That's a very long dry time. Do you have somewhere warm to keep it? Wally World has surprised me once or twice with what they sometimes have...More often than not though they are just the disappointment that I expect them to be!

Very good job, clean and sharp, keep it dry and warm.

Wally World is a joke but the paint selection is surprising with name brand rattle cans.

Thanks! Wally world I like it!!! Yes I found the paint there! In the auto repair field we have many options for custom paint. I thought I would let everyone know that you do'nt have to go to high end paint store to comlete a simple paint job on a part your replacing on your tractor. No tractor show here! Steve...
