:welcometogttalk:
My manual says 5 qts SAE30. Seems right, it was more than a gal when I changed mine.

I have the starter switch info around here somewhere, I will find it for you ASAP. This is the original Tecumseh engine on the tractor?

it hold 5 quarts of motor oil. do u know your id number? 917.xxxxx if ya can't find ur service manual here for ur tractor, go to www.stripmine.org/sears. click on sears on tractor manuals, scroll down to find ur id number, click on that. U will find a complete manual in pdf format. U will need acrobat reader to download it. Its a free site.

is ur switch bad, or do u just not have one? got to use the correct one for ur tractor. U can find one at orielly's, but it has to be the right contact configuration for your tractor's original switch.

We've got the manual here. It's also free. :D

It can be found here: http://gardentractor...-owners-manual/

There is also a manual for the snow plow, mower deck and engine.
They are all listed in this search http://gardentractor...h&fromMainBar=1

Here is a link to a post regarding the OEM switches. If it has the original Tec engine, you must use this style switch. If the engine has been changed, it's a whole different ball game.

I believe member and site supporter BHTS would have them. In stock or be able to get them for you.
You can PM him, submit a question in his forum (on main forum page) or go to his website: http://www.bobsgardentractors.com/
