Does this look like a deal if this item is close enough to me to pick up? Will this fit the 900 model also? What kind of questions should i ask about the blower?

It will fit your 900, but If i were you I'd wait for another one to come along as this one is missing its chute rotating mechanism and that rusty rod attached to the chute is a homemade hack job.
These yellow snow casters are a dime a dozen so I'd wait it out for a nice one to come along (Just my opinion)

Usually for a complete yellow snow caster in decent shape, The going rate is around $100 Tops
I guess if you want to buy the one for $50 you could find a good used chute rotating mecanism.

not a bad deal if someone needs something to throw snow on a budget.
