Hey guys, just looking through my paint here at the shop ,and discovered something interesting. The modern day MTD Cub Cadet beige color is pretty much identical to the Bolens beige that is on my Bolens 1053.In case anyone else is interested, the color is called Powder Coat Beige, and the paint code is 759-3735,this is an MTD code I assume. The paint is acrylic enamel. I did not spray anything and hold it up next to the Bolens, but I stirred the paint and then held the stir stick next to it, and it is close.I mentioned this because nobody seems to know what the actual Bolens color is,making it hard to find it.This way ,if it suits you,you can just go buy it right off the shelf. And it is available in either spray can or regular cans so you can mix it and spray it with a paint gun.

I would be alright with the Cub beige. You are right though when it comes to trying to trying to find out exactly what color a Bolens is supposed to be, especially the 1053. Did you happen to peel a sticker off and check the color behind it?

I may have jumped the gun a little on this one.I have taken a small piece of sheet metal and prepared it and then painted it.Now that the paint has been sprayed on,and set up,the color match is not as close .But it isn't that far of.

Thanks, mjodrey That's Good to know.
Bolens are pretty tough to get an exact match. Especially with the 1050's which they changed the color just a bit darker each year.
