Wanted to let everyone know about a cheaper alternative(I think) to the stock glow plugs in the Yanmars. The OEM plug for these motors are NGK Y702R. I found these priced from $23.00 to over $50.00 a piece. I ran across a website that mentioned the NGK Y103V were a direct replacement and I found these for $7.75 to $25.00 a piece. Dimensionally these plugs are identical. And after a call to NGK I found they are very similiar on their performance even though NGK did mention that the 702 was a more durable plug with more shielding. So I tried the 103's and after about 40 or 50 start cycles on a cold engine found them to be a cost effective alternative. I will try and update on the long term life of these in a year or so but as of right now they seem like a pretty good deal.

Thanks for the info on those. Out here on the East coast there are a lot of Yanmars used in marine applications. If I need parts in the future I'm going to try the marine suppliers as well. So far I haven't needed anything.
