Han anyone installed the Kolpin Cat 0, 3 Point hitch on their garden/lawn tractor? I am debating on installing either the Kolpin hitch or the Johnny Products power sleeve hitch. Does anyone have any experience with the Kolpin? Any opinion on which would be the better option? Thanks!

K.G.

Ken, First off, WELCOME to GTtalk, glad you joined us here.

I have a couple questions for you.

What are you putting this on, Brand and model of GT?

What are wanting to do with it, are you pulling a plow or what?

I hadn't heard of the Kolpin 3-pt, so had to do a bit of searching.

Looks like it would be a real project to adapt that rascal to a GT.

TD&H was correct in that we need a lot more info on what tractor you are thinking of putting one of these attachments on.

I have a sleeve hitch on a tube frame Bolens and a sleeve hitch plow. I also have a 3-pt for my 1886.

At this point I don't have any 3-pt attachments, but I'll be ready for one if/when I do. In the mean time, I got this to put on the 3-pt so I can use my sleeve hitch plow with the 1886.

Personally I think that a 3-pt with an adapter like the above is the most versatile of all of the options.

IF you are going to fab up a 3-pt, you might want to check out this page.

Still, it would be nice to know what tractor you are talking about.

Thanks everyone for their input... I have a JD LA 140, that has been upgraded to the Tuff Torq K66 Transaxle and larger ag wheels/tires. It has a lot of torque now. I'd like to do light ground engaging stuff - shallow trenching, light lifting, and snow plowing/road grading... Any help would be appreciated!

I use a sleeve hitch on my tractors. Don't have any 3-point, but I want to welcome you to GTtalk. :)

Here is one of many links for the Kolpin Cat 0 3 Point hitch.

From Kolpin:

Prices vary widely.

I don't see why this wouldn't work with a LGT?

I have the Kolpin 3 point which I adapted for my John Deere X485 GT. It works fine but it took some work to get it to fit up. Finally after several trys I found a solution that works very well. Old Buzzard was right when he said that it would be a rascal to fit up. It was! But it can be done.
