My dad bought a cub 124 about 6-7 years ago and he wanted it to be his yard and work tractor. He took it all apart and it was in his tire warehouse for a few years then we went to a tractor pull at the local farmers museum and watched. I had used my '66 broadmoor for pulls before but after braking many things I stopped. My dad wanted to find me a good strong tractor to do pulls with and he looked around for a week or so then he remembered he had the cub at the warehouse all taken apart. The farmers museum had a pull once a month and by this time we had 3 weeks to get it restored and ready for pulls, I got finished just in time. It leaked oil terribly and we put a piece of cardboard with some rags on the deck brackets. It stayed like that for a few months then we pulled the engine and replaced a seal. After getting it all back together it ruined the seal immediately, the bearings in the engine are terrible. It got the cardboard back and the rags, after about a year and a half we changed the engine out with another k301 from a different cub and that's the engine it has now. We finished it when I was 11. At my 3rd or 4th pull with it I got 3rd in the 1100lbs class (I think, maybe it was 1000lbs class.) out of 32 pullers. It always did pretty good. I have a set of AGs and a set of turfs that would get switched at the pulls for different class restrictions. I dont have any before pics, only some pulling pics right now. I have other pictures but I will have to take pics of them to post them.

Thanks Kenny! I forgot to post in the opening post that the black engine is the original, the yellow is the replacement. They aren't in any order so that might help some.

It looks like you were having a good time. Glad you found the replacement engine for the Cub. They are tough tractors.

Thanks, are you going to do pulls with your cub? Its a lot of fun and I bet your 125 could do very well at stock pulls if set up to do so.

Nice pictures Ryan. Thanks for posting them.

I've never been to a GT pull. I have been to regular pulls. I might have to go to one.

I don't know what is down that way but im sure you will be able to find some pulls around. I don't know how long it would take you to get to orange county from Greenville but if you want I can send you a pm with the email to the guy who used to run the pulls I went to I haunt talked to him in a while and I don't know if they still do it or not but if your interested, send me a pm and ill give you the info.

Thanks! You should go to a GT pull sometime, depending on were you pull al you really need is a wheelie bar. Maybe fab something up quick and try it out!
