does anyone know the best way to remove sludge from an engine. I got my 3 hp project on the bench and the case is apart, I soaked it in degreeser and it kinda worked. Any suggestions

If it is on there thick, I have never found an easy way. I just use scrapers, brushes and kerosene

An automotive machine shop could hot tank it for you though I wouldn't recommend it on aluminum blocks. The stuff they use may be safe for that now though. Check for their recommendations.
