hi and welcome again. i have started a new restoration and it is a Ransomes Marquis 18 inch cyclinder grass mower with a clinton gem engine as fitted by ransomes in 1963. This is a model 2 A and was only in production for two years. so it is very rare and was used mainly for gardens and cricket pitches in uk.

the one thing which i need the most is a gas tank cap for the clinton. i have searched all over here and they are a lot wider than our uk ones. i hope that by putting an add on your site may help me get one. the start of the painting process follows after a good rub down etc. the exhaust has rotted off with age so i hacve repaired the old one .you will see later how it came out.

i used this mower last summer and i know that it runs okay so really it is just a full repaint by brush finish, and there is a large repair to do on the grass box which i will get done later.

you will notice that the carb fitted on this engine is not a clinton one as they changed them for a uk carb so that if it needed spare parts we had them on the shelf as other uk engines of similar HP had these fitted
