 oldbuzzard said to post this on the Bolens forum side.

I have a front mount 540 PTO unit that fits on my Bolens 1050. I was trying to figure out what company made this? Is it Bolens or what company built this unit. There is no ID tag or no decals on it. :confuse:

The square style shaft on the end is 3/4" x 7/8". Which it is the bolens style shaft. I don't have the PTO nuckle to connect my jackshaft to the drive shaft of the PTO unit yet.

:camera: Here are the pics.

I dont think this attachment was meant for a Bolens tubeframe

Here's are some pictures of the PTO's that were used with the tubeframes:

In the photos of the other PTO units they are all installed on the 1050 style tractors. What dose it show for the H-16 year style? I have that model also that i could install it on.

That depends on which 'H16' you are talking about. The original tube frame H16 was Model 1665-10 thru -04. It will mount on that.

If it's one of the later Medium frame Surban style H16s, that have the suffix tacked on (H16XL, H16XT, etc.), then I don't think it will.

I just noticed that in the ads published that the PTO units were all mounted on the 1050 style looking with the white hood. I didn't know if there were different designs of that pto units made when the newer models of tractors come out, or if they stayed with that same design until they went to the next frame style?

Is this the same PTO unit that I saw in another post this week. It appears to me to fit nicely on a tube frame.

Yes this is the one I posted in the barn forum. oldbuzzard said that I should try the Bolens section and see if I would get responces from the Bolens side of it.

It looks to be made for a Bolens tube frame to me, but I'm not a Bolens expert. You might check with Tractor Supply Co., they cary several different sizes of U-joints for farm and garden.

Yep, that's a tube frame tractor. Looks like it's missing the 'hump' on the top of the hood.

When you look, you will see that it has the same mounting points and PTO as the 1050.

One thing that confuses a lot of people is the 'sheet metal' that Bolens put on the later tractors that covered up the tube.

Heres a pic of a 1256 without the 'cover'.

And one with the cover.

I believe They only used those 2 styles , There was also a Bolens made unit that just basically had a pulley on the front. I think that they were 1:1 ratio.

All of the tubeframes were pretty much the same and 9 times out of 10 the attachments were interchangeable between models.
I would almost bet that a good portion of that PTO unit you have shown us is Homemade.
