I just got back on tractor talk after a nearly two year hiatus. The other day I suddenly had a chance to buy a Bolens that was running good. I called the guy and asked him if it was a 15 horse (1556) he said it was a 16 horse. When I looked at the pic on Craigs list I realized I had never seen that model before. It was a Bolens 1600 Eliminator. Now it's sitting in my garage...and yes it does run good. I will attempt to add a pic.DSC01348.jpg

Nice looking Bolens. Thats a Briggs, isn't it?
One thing to watch for on those engines... The rodents love 'em. Be a good idea to pull the tin and check for debris that would prevent proper cooling.

Caseguy has had the tins off his Bolens Briggs at least twice evicting mice.

Nice find and I like your tractor. I acquired a 1600H almost 2 years ago and love it. I have acquired a few attachments for it now and try to use it at least once a week. If you need any help or insight into it let me know. I have converted mine over to hydraulic lift from manual lift.
