Miter gears went out in the gear box. Thankfully parts for it are still available. It's a peerless 3573P91. Also the sprocket/jackshaft assy. on the thrower went to hell. A couple of teeth missing on the sprocket and the shaft broke (snapper part #14390 NLA). Can't find a replacement anywhere so I'm going to fab my own.
Found a 3/4" x 14" jackshaft with 3/16" keyway for gokarts (Azusa 8183-14). Will have to cut to length needed. Then found a Martin sprocket (40BS13HT) with 3/4" bore, 3/16 key way and 2 set screws. It has hardened teeth. Or you could use Martin 40A13 which has a 1/2" bore and would weld onto the shaft (after enlarging the bore).
I'm going to use the first one listed just in case I ever need to replace the sprocket again. But will have to make the shaft 1/4" to 5/8" longer since it has a hub on the sprocket. Hopefully there is enough room for the extra length when it all goes back on the thrower. Also going to replace the bearings for the jackshaft, one is a little noisy(NAPA small engine number 7-04141).
Have all the parts ordered. Now just waiting for the parts to arrive, hate that part of fixing something.
Thankfully have a snowplow on the ATV and a walkbehind snapper for backup.
