Its 2:40 a.m. on this freezing missouri night. I woke up to a smoke filled house. Thought the stove damper fell shut but it was fine. Went outside and saw the pipe had busted and fell to pieces.

I just got everything to put my tractor back together too, and wanted nothing more than to spend the whole saturday turning the wrenches on it. Now I have to do un-fun work!

Glad I got that off of my chest.

That's not good. I guess this is up on the roof? No fun at all this time of year.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Could have been a lot worse, your house may have caught fire. Glad to hear that didn't happen.

My thoughts exactly! Glad you and yours are still here. Not a fun thing, shortly after we were married we lived upstairs in Dad's house. The woodstove door did not have a latch and one night a log bumped it open. That is a scary thing to wake to.

Thanks for comments gentlemen. I really do appreciate it. All is well now - new pipe and everything is good for the year. This summer I am definitely putting in an outdoor woodburner as my main source of heat.
