Hello, I am working on a Chor Trac 2 wheel tractor,trying to determine the year and model number,the serial number on the tag is SIM-990079A,I want to try to download a manual for it,it looks like there might be some brake parts missing any help would be appreciated,thanks very much,this is a great site.

Mowerman12, Welcome to GTTalk!!! All I can tell you from your number is that it was built by Simplicity. If we could determne the Simplicity model we should be able to find a manual. Can you post a pic of it?

welcome mowerman12,
Its hard to pin point the exact yrs of these tractors. If it has a briggs engine then one could run that number and get with a couple of yrs. Just from seeing several tractors over tiome i'd guess it to in the mid to later 50's. Im however interested in seeing a picture it, as a braking unit on a walk=behind is fairly rare. Since you are calling it a Chore-Trac i assume it has that on an oval shaped tag on the side of the frame or gear case? There were several "Trac" model built or the yrs.
