Bought this tractor last fall [End of Sept] and finally got some time to work on it.Took the gear box off yesterday and after taking it apart I was able to see what it all needed so went into Winnipeg and got parts that I needed to get this tractor back into running condition.I had a older style BGB but I wasn't able to use it or any of the parts from it. I wasn't going to put new gears into it because its going for sale but after closer inspection of the old gears and a couple really bad spots on each one I decided to change them.I also had to put in a new input shaft plus all bearings and seals. In one pic you can see just how many pieces of gear teeth, brgs etc have been all chewed up and were inside the gear box. I put the BGB all back together and installed it onto the trans but still have to put the tractor halves back together.Hopefully I'll have some time tommoro to finish it off and get it out of my shop and put it for sale. :bounce:

You certainly didn't waste any time here. That's quick turnaround.

Seeing it's just a simple gear box it wasn't too bad to do. Small stuff like this can almost be done with one eye closed and one arm tied behind your back.LOL it takes longer to get the time to do it then the actual work.Have way to much going on this winter to seem to have the time to play with the small stuff.Hopefully this will be the start of GT time and relaxation.

Nice job. Looks like it was not too far away from not being repairable, that must have made a heck of a racket at that point. Some people dont know what maintenance is and should not own any machines.

It was close. The needle brg was almost worn thru then it would have started destroying the case.

Finished it today, put the snowblower on and tried it out.It works just like it's supposed to.The high and low range [gives 6 speeds] so this tractor will just crawl in low and 1st gear. The motor runs like new and now so does the rest of it.Larry
