Ok i found a machine shop I'm going to use. Once I have the crank & block inspected and I find out whats good and what needs replaced I was wondering what parts should I go with? Either way i do plan on puttin a new rod in it and having it fit with inserts. I know alot of people sell rebuild kits on ebay from stens & rotary . Are they good replacement parts? Also I had a question about valves. I see alot of people using stainless valves , is there any advantage using them vrs. stock .

I've used several Stens & Rotary kits with very good results, however, OE Kohler parts are definitely superior parts, and if yoiu can afford, best in the long-run. Also, if you plan to really tax your engine, like with competition pulling, OE Kohler parts only, or even better, high performance parts. OE valves are fine with ordinary use.

Thanks , Actually I'm thinkin about havin the angle cut for better flow , I think for the money it wowuld be well worth it. Also want to put a straight pipe on it. I've always liked the looks of them. I'm not puttin this into a puller so I'm not worried about any kinda rules. lol Just want somthing a lil more then a stock motor but nothing crazy. Any ideas u have would be great. thanks
