Yes you are right, same ratio, when you get set up post some pics of your operation, I'm not going to get to do anything myself this year, so will have to get by looking at other operations and visiting a friend or 2 to lend a hand when I can.

Do you think it's going to start early this year?, today we noticed that a sugar maple in the yard that got a branch cracked from that freak snow we had when the leaves were still on, was bleeding sap and made about a foot long icecicle. tasted just like maple sryup, I thought after this front pushes through, I might tap a couple in the woods too see whats going on

I put out 12 spiles today ,and 3 started to bleed right away. It wasn't a very good day for flow ,last night never got to freezing.
So I guess if it's running on a poor day it must be time, going to put out another dozen tomorrow. Hope to have all 60 out by begining of next week.

Way too early for us around here, most won't tap until the middle of next month if they are using tubing, folks with buckets and open taps probably not until first of March. Debate is on as to how the season will go, no snow and frost is pretty deep into the ground, will have to wait and see.

I don't understand why it's early here, maybe the sign of an early spring ? We have way too many deer around to put up a tube system.

After a couple days of bad weather, with snow and day time temps. way to low. The sap started flowing again, I got 16 1/2 gal. out of 24 spiles. Put out another 21 today, I'm going to try and put the rest out tomorrow

Well sugaring is under way here in southern NH. Visited a friend thurs evening and we boiled for a couple hrs on his "back yard" evaporator.
This is his first year of sugaring and it was fun to give him a few hints, planning to get back there this coming week for another go round and
hopefully to finish off a batch of syrup.
