Thanks Lee... I am in the NE part of the state. I have 2 JDs, a STX 38 [that my father in law still uses]and a LT 150 [ that I use].

I have always loved the looks of the Wheel Horse tractors.
Ever since I viewed one on an old HGTV show years ago.
But in my part of the state there does not seem to many old ones...if any.
I found this one closer to you.
I hope to be able to pick mine up next weekend.

Yeah, not many anywhere in AR. I spent several years working with the steel mills in Blytheville and the Cotton Gins. If you get down my way give me a hollar-coffee's on me-Lee (got a couple JDs an dparts too.-170, LX176/172 for mowing) My first is my MF12-"in process".

That missing belt guard reminds me of the scar I got 45 years ago from our 702 on the side of my calf !! Didn't draw any blood though .

I actually got a "free" Wheel Horse 753 from a guy in Arkansas. He actually brought it up to me here in Missouri.

Here are some pictures of it at his house:

Here it is at my place.

I put on different front tires and got it running. It had a decent deck. I sold it for $200 and now I wish I kept it.

Well I have picked it up.
I have not tried starting it, I will wait till I get back home on that.
The shift lever has come unattached, it will not remove from the shift case but also does not seem hooked up.
Overall the body looks good, I will have to see on the gearbox. Maybe not anything to big.
The serial # is 62-24500
Thanks again for all of ya'lls help!
I am sure if I can get it running I will need more!

Looking forward to more on this machine! I've owned a few Wheel Horse tractors, but it's been several years. Never had a smaller one like this one.

I just downloaded the WH transmission book and it may be that the setscrew and locknut have just come loose.
Also can anyone point to to any info on the starter for this tractor?

The Kohler 7 HP engine number is K 161 S 661876

K161S is the model number
661876 should be the serial number
There is also a spec number - which should be 28626E
Can you verify?
