OK guys. I have found the 'mother lode' service and operator manual for 10 HP Yanmar and China 186F clone air cooled diesel engines. You can download the manual at DAW Manual Downloads. The L-A-Manual-Complete file is the one I think is most relevant. While it is a Yanmar manual it should cover the China clone engines as well. This manual is very complete and has lots of useful information that may relate to more than just that model of engine. I think anyone working with one of these 10 HP Chindie engines will find it helpful. I know I will.

Went to do just that and (SURPRISE!) - Utah Smitty beat me to it - that rascal. Well, it's still a good resource for anyone working with the 186F style engine.

Way to go Smitty!

That's really great. I guess I failed to recognize that the Chindie diesels are called clones for a reason. I had been searching for manuals with search parameters like china diesel and coming up empty. By just substituting Yanmar for china diesel BINGO. The Yanmar manuals are very complete and will be very useful for me. I'm sure others will find them useful also. There is general information about diesel operation in the manuals that could interest everybody.

Thanks!

:poke:

Not much sense in creating abbreviations if you don't use them right!

Chindie = China diesel

Your thread title reads "China diesel diesel engine service manual". :say_what: :confuse:

How's about we abbreviate the abbreviation and just say "China diesel" and be done with it? Fewer key strokes and more understandable!

:bigrofl::bigrofl::bigrofl:

Must be a gov'mint worker who dreamed that one up!

I'll concede to china diesel until mine is a functional project since I currently do not have a leg (functional project) to stand on. Once my project is a bonafide living, running, knocking and smoke belching dieselized GT then it will be a Chindie from then on. Deal?

Nice addition to the manuals section. Thanks!

Armed with all the information in those manuals I feel a lot more confident about working with my China diesel engine. Of course, people that know me well would tell you that about the time I start to get confident is about the time to get away quick! :rolling:
