Anyone out there have a Springfield tractor? My wife's uncle is giving me a Springfield mower (alright not a GT but it has a cuteness factor with it). I think it will fit under my workbench. I just got a quick look at it in the dark. It appears to be green and white and has a "25" decal on the hood. Sorry no pics yet and it may be awhile before I get some but they'll be on here as soon as I can get 'em. Does anyone have any information on these? Serial number breakdowns/models/etc.?

The Springfield tractors were built by Quick Mfg of Springfield OH. They made walk behinds and riders. The model 25 is a 25 in cut mower only. They made bigger riders also. The last of the Springfield riders and the early Gilsons looked a lot alike and it seems somewhere I either heard or read that Gison bought out the Springfield line. I've never verified it personally. I do have a piece or two of Springfield literature floating around somewhere.

Finally got a pic of the Springfield. It should be coming home this weekend. Does anyone have a front "Springfield" emblem or a good used mower drive pulley for one of these?

A lot of homeowners had mowers similar to that. Like you said... not a GT, but certainly was an improvement over walking behind a push mower!!

Great little Springfield. Just remembered that you messaged me a few months ago about front emblems, and I will get you a good picture so you can have a decal made up soon. I had planned to replicate them and may still do it, but probably not anytime soon. Hang onto that great little Springfield, they aren't easy to find.

I would buy a decal from you if you made them, maybe a couple.
