My 129 has had its electrical system modified quite a bit and I am in the process of getting back to the original starter generator system. It had the wrong blower housing and I purchased a housing from a 127 off of ebay. I thought I would put it on today. I had to pull the engine out to get the old housing off. Then when I tried to put the new housing on, it does not fit! It will not slip over the flywheel. The diameter of the flywheel is 10". The flywheel does not have teeth but they have put a stator on it. I have not pulled the flywheel yet. So, could it be that the flywheel is not right?

There is a smaller flywheel, so sounds like they put a larger one on your engine. The starter/generator flywheels are 8" diameter.

Thanks olcowhand, 2" would make a lot of difference. That is what they have done. I will pull it off and see if I can get an 8" diameterflywheel.
