I was telling my 14 year old son about a Sears I saw while buying some used tires for our little wheel horse. I think it's a ss or st 16, at any rate it has an Onan 16 twin under the hood. The guy that has it repairs and sells mowers and is trying to find a deck for it with limited success. He noticed me eyeballing it and said he would make me a hell of a deal. To which I naturally respond what's the deal? Guy says $100, runs good. At this point my boy is on full alert wanting to know when we are picking it up. I can now see that I am about to dash his dreams by telling him I don't have the cash for it at this time, and by the time I do it may be gone. But had to be done, so with a heavy heart I break the news to him. To which he replies 'I have $100'. :say_what: My turn to drop my lower jaw. Of course I want to know how a 14 year old has $100 laying around. Turns out it's holiday/ birthday $ he has not spent. So it looks like we are going to get another Sears tomorrow. Just have to make sure he really wants to spend that much of his $.

Tell your son congrats.

To put it in perspective, it's way cheaper than a girlfriend or a puppy.

Neat story. Thanks for shareing that. It's nice to know that there are still some young guys out there, that
would rather have a tractor than a Justin Bieber haircut and hoody.

Ah, Tractor Trek, The Next Generation. This will be a very good way for your son to learn about mechanics, Moose. Find him a mower deck and some implements that do what you need done around the yard, and he can learn about landscaping too.

Must have been in wrong section when I posted this originally, but hey everyone found it ok. Pics will be posted in Sears/Roper section ASAP.
btw this thing runs like a dream, if a bit rich. Maybe tweak the carb later this week.
