Hi all, i got my gravely fired up and running nicely, i attached the snowblower and when i move the inside control lever back towards me the fan from the blower turns but the augers dont, i see what looks like an oil filler hole on the blower gears(?) and inside it is totally dry, would lack of oil stop the augers? they turn freely by hand, maybe a bit too freely as it feels like they are not connected to anything..

Its a square chute open auger type, i believe they are called "dogeaters"
Anyone know whats going on here?

Most likely the gears in that front gearbox are stripped. Time to open it up!

Thanks, i read something about shear pins, do you know if broken shear pins will stop the auger but not the fan?
