Doug (DH1) has talked about the electric tractor that he built. I saw this on Kijiji tonight.

Electric garden tractors and attachments - Owen Sound Home/Garden Items For Sale - Kijiji Owen Sound Canada.

I Googled the tractors listed and came up with this page about the history of these things. Pretty interesting

I saw that ad 1hr after it was posted, still have heard nothing from the seller.
These Electric tractors are few and far between.

We sold the Avco New Idea electric mowers back when we had the farm implement store. We sold quite a few of them with the 120 being the most popular. They were great and so quite. As long as you did not have 10" tall grass they worked fine and did a very nice job of mowing. They had all kind of pulling power and we would hook up an electric 8hp to a 10 or 12 hp gas tractor and let the gas GT pull the electric backwords, then I would let out the clutch on the electric and it would stop the gas and pull it backwards wheels spinning and everything. It sold them every time. I don't know why because most people never used them to pull much but it was impressive. I sold all our parts, manuals, new decks and I think 3 mowers. Two of them were R36. The guy was from Kansas City and planned on selling all the parts on e-bay. I wish I had kept one of the GT's. I took one of the deck motors and hooked it up to to a pump and made a yard sprayer for one of them. They were great little machines just to far ahead of their time.
