Received this tonight by email.

Want to express your objection to all the current attempts to take Christ out of Christmas? It will cost you $0.94 and a few minutes of your time.

Send a Christmas card to the ACLU. You can buy 2 card for a dollar at the Dollar Store. make sure it says Merry Christmas. Tell them there is no such thing as a holiday tree. That it has always been a Christmas Tree, it is a Christmas Tree, and it will always be a Christmas Tree.

Can you imagine the consternation this will cause at their headquarters if they receive thousands of cards? They will take the time to open them all, there may be a donation in one of them.

Please send cards to: ACLU, 125 broad street, 18th floor, New York, NY 10004

Just to be clear, this is not an attempt to denigrate anyone else's religion, it's an attempt to ask politely that mine not be maligned or altered against my wishes. That my freedom of religion be respected and I be allowed to celebrate one of my religion's most Holy days without feeling like I need to hide it's name or change it's meaning.

I am sending them well wishes for a Merry Christmas. My hope is one person there is positively affected by this and better understands the reason for the season. If that happens, my $0.94 was spent very wisely.

IMHO, the ACLU (as with others) oft-times fails to remember that the Constitution and more particularly The Bills of Rights is an all-encompassing document.
In an attempt to further a particular "right" it's all too easy to forget that others have rights too. One "right" does not trump another. I will refer to this week as Christmas and will always celebrate it so. Any attempt to lessen that experience is an attempt to promote their beliefs at the cost of mine. As, we say in the South; "That dog won't hunt"

That sounds like a fantastic idea! I'll be going past the dollar store this morning! I think that I can even get my wife to post it on her FB page and get a few more in the mail and headed that way! Thanks for the heads up!

Trying to change "Christmas" to "Holiday" is a very sore subject with me, so I will leave my opinion out of this one, so I don't vent to the point of no return. Just note, Christmas is Christmas! Always has been, and always will be! No questions asked!

It's gotten so bad, that the other day, the wife went to the Walmart photo center, tho get some xmas cards made. Guess what?
No options. Happy Holidays. take it or leave it. This is all wrong.

Then in my opinion Wal Mart doesn't get the business. I agree with everyone else, the REAL reason for CHRISTmas is to celebrate the birth of our savior. Unfortunately Christmas has become WAY too commercial, it's all about money now-a-days. If others doen't agree or like it thats up to them and they don't need to participate if it's not their religion or belief. I am sure not trying to stop their religious freedoms or stomp on what they celebrate so don't do it to me.

Christmas is Christmas. I only say 'Happy Holidays' to include both Christmas and New Years! Merry Christmas, folks.

And to me if you do not believe, than don't celebrate!!!! That way stores can stay open and those that do believe can have off.
