I "think" that one reads just shy of 623 hours. The yellow hand has rolled past 600, so that's the base reading, then the red hand reads almost 23. Add the 2 & you have 623. The white hand I think is minutes, which doesn't matter that much....about another 13 minutes. Once the yellow hand reaches 60, then it will be 660hrs, plus whatever the red hand shows...etc.

That's how I would read it also. Taxes the old noodle too much to read that kind. I like the KISS type myself.

Thanks guys! It's on a Bolens HT23. Condensation inside finally went down enough to read it this morning.

That is difficult to fathom. I wonder what those red highlights every 10 hrs on the outer dial are for? Maybe for a maintenance reminder!

It seems like the 600 hr marks the rollover like 100,000 on the old odometers. How do you tell how many times it has went past 600? Couldn't Michelle's example also indicate just 23 hrs?

Thanks for the pic of the manual Kenny. Yes, I guess it could indicate 23 or 1223 as well or any multiple of 600. It seems to be geared towards scheduling maintenance rather than keeping the total hours. I prefer the odometer type that goes to 10,000 hrs. The maintenance reminder is a nice feature though as long as you change on 30 or 60 hr intervals.

Yes, but the odds of that are astronomical! But then you knew that.

If its original to the tractor the odds would be against it. It's like the antique car hobby though. Every now and then one will show up that has defied the odds and also been documented as original miles. Don't think I've ever seen an hour meter like that and was just wondering. My luck, I'd buy it as a clean one owner with 23 hrs and find out its 1223!
