Yes, I guess if you got snow on the ground all the time, it would be good to have around. It looks like it's just for snow b/c of the ski's on the back.

Back in the late 1980s a friend had one and had the kit sold to replace the rear skis with wheels, with the bogie wheel suspension instead of newer slide suspensions it could be operated on grass. I believe it has a single cylinder Hirth 194R two cycle engine in it.

Yes, these did have the 16HP 2 cycle Hirth engine in them
They were rated for speeds up to 40MPH

Back in the late 60's and early 70's my Brother in-law was a dealer for Bolens snowmobiles. The Diablo Rouge (Red Devil) was actually a useful machine in many instances.
In close quarters such as trees this sled could turn on a dime and climb over many obstacles that would leave other snowmobiles of the day stranded. On the other hand traversing rough ground was a workout for the operators arms. Fun machines though.
