I know this has been covered but I want to make sure, the general opinion seems to be to use 30W motor oil. Now would this be non-detergent, detergent, diesel etc. Also I've seen shell rotella mentioned alot, but I believe this was a multi-viscosity. Thanks in advance for any help. Bill.

I've been using ATF for years now.Being in a colder climate area it's the best one for me to use.I believe that it even says that in the manual to use ATF. Larry

I believe the manuals call for type A automatic trans fluid, but Dexron III works great. I have an older mf14 manual that states in hot climates & heavy duty use that it is advised to use 30wt motor oil. The motor oil will also help a worn hydro perform a little better.

Thanks for the reply guys. I will use dexron III then. Hydro works good but the level is low and the filter looks like it has been on there a while. I'll get the hydro nice and warm and drop the oil out of it. I did look at the manual in the manuals section, it said m-110 fluid or something like that which means nothing to me. Thats why I asked the MF experts.
