I bought a battery for my Bolens today. Put it in, changed the oil, poured gas in the carb and tank, walked away, came back, pushed the starter button and it fired. Would not run on its own. Got to looking and the gas line was tight against the governer. Moved the gas line and shot some starting fluid into the carb and she fired up and ran. This mower has been sitting, I was told about 15 years. The old battery was from 1996. She ran smoove and sounded great. Reached down and pulled the hydro lever and it worked like it sould. Wow what a day. I need a belt tighten pulley. 2 3/4 by 1 1/4, 3/8 shaft. Anyone have a good idea who to contact on this or can this be bought at the local hardware. Would like to keep it all Bolens if I could.

Email or call Jestin at www.tubeframes.com

He's a good guy to deal with, and very reasonable on his pricing.

Glad to hear you got the 900 up and running! :dancingbanana:
Its always a good feeling when you see it running for the first time.

As for the pulley these ones are a bit hard to find. You could also try Bob's lawn and garden and see if he has one.

I think I had a grin from ear to ear when it took off. I have had a lot of people suggest www.tubeframe.com to check out items, I have not yet been able to get thier web sight to come up. Is anyone else having the same problems with them? Also was on internet last night and found a sight www.sonnysbolens.com that looks to have the part. Guess what? He is from Portland Indiana, 25 miles from me. I am calling him today to see if he has what I need. Have any of you delt with them?

I have been trying to go to this web sight for the last week, have not been able to download the sight? All I get is a blank white page. Has this sight changed it URL? Can you bring it up? We are still on dial up, which is going to change in a week or so, we have placed a order for wireless. I am thinking it is me but have no issues with other sights.

Sonny's tends to get the most negative feed back. If you are going to buy the parts Directly from from him (Not online) I think you will be ok

Bolens 1000 can you give me the URL to the Bobs lawn andGArden in case tubeframes part is different then what I need? I am also lookingfor a belt andI did not se any listed with tubeframe.

the drive belt closest to the battery. I assume the 2 belts are the same size? Should I replace both at the same time or does it matter?

Yes, both the belts are the same size and part #1715006
If the other belt is starting to wear I'd probably replace both of them

Bob is super to deal with & does his best to please his customers. I've bought a few times from him & you cannot beat his service. Plus he's a GTT Site Sponsor.
