  1. Work Light Upgrade

Having trouble with your old Halogen Work Light???

I purchased a double Halogen work light a few years ago and have replaced the expensive bulbs too often. Last week one of the units fried itself, due to excessive heat and rendered it useless.

This is what I did to alleviate this problem. For a cost of about $20.00 I now have two 90 watt flood lamps attached to the original tripod stand. (see pics). Each light is individually controlled by a pull chain. They are as bright, more dependable and have less heat then the Halogens. The heads swivel up, down and sideways as the originals. I used 2x3 pine blocks with a 1/4" hole drilled through lengthwise to accept a threaded rod. Wing nuts were added to lock and unlock each unit.

    Materials needed:

    2 Pull chain lamp holders
    2 Octagon ceiling boxes
1 Single gang box with cover
    2 1/4 x 20 threaded rods
    4 1/4 x 20 wing nuts

    Original parts utilized:

    Tripod stand
    Handles
    Electric cord

    Good luck,

    Dave
