Thanks for posting the article

The Massey looks good
I switched to led bulbs because of the battery drain of extra lights during snow removal at night. I think they were 10 bucks on eBay. Might be something to conside
DH1 - I am going to repower my Wheel Horse with this same motor (clone). I am having the same issue with the exhaust and the air cleaner. I noticed the aftermarket air cleaner you put on yours - how did you get the screw to mount in the center of the carb? I am going to have to do the same for the exhaust as you did. My exhaust not only is too tall, but it points forward with the factory exhaust. Thanks for this article. This looks like it will help me.

The air cleaner is the one that came with the motor with the top cover removed, wouldn't fit under the hood with it on

What about the muffler for your honda clone - mine is HUGE and goes up on top like a box. I want to switch to a smaller - right facing muffler. Did you do something special for that?

What I did was remove the cast iron pipe that goes from the head to the muffler, I then cut the pipe and welded in a 90deg iron pipe fitting, remounted the pipe, found that this would put the muffler outside the engine bay, I did have to cut a notch in the side of the grill to do this. More pic.

Great job. Did the original engine in the 12 have a solid state igniation? If not what did it have?

Original engine was a Tecumseh with starter/generator and points ignition
how does the snow blower work in the winter?
