This is great John. Center just blew out of the muffler on my 10XL and it looks to me to be rusted/corroded right intothe block. I will use this tip as soon as my new muffler arrives.

I did the same thing to a broken/leaking steel nipple on the aluminum intake manifold on my chevy truck, only I used a broken in half hacksaw blade wraped with duct tape for a handle.(no room for any power tools) Went slow and stopped when I seen treads. Still does not leak to this day, been over forty thousand miles. Knock on wood.

I tried this a few days ago on a 1972 MF12 which still had the original muffler and extension pipe, which people had tried to remove before me. Had it out in 10 minutes, worked like a charm, thanks a million.
