GTtalk's Featured Tractor Of The Month For July 2012

It was the best gift I ever recieved as a child. I loved my tractor, and I was the only kid I knew that had his own tractor. The years passed by, and I moved away to Austin, but my dad stored it for me.


I now have four kids of my own, and my youngest son really took an interest in tractors, so I pulled it out of the mothballs, and started the restoration. It was in really ruff shape, and was missing some parts, but thanks to my fellow tractor enthusiasts, and a guy by the name of Daryel Shaffer, I was able to find the pieces I needed. It still has its original Briggs 9FB in it, which has now been bored .020 over, and has a new rod. I rebiult the transaxle as well, replacing bearings, and seals. My son has been there for every part of the restoration, lending a hand anyway he could. We had alot of fun. It was completely sandblasted, then any rust holes were either welded shut, or if need be a new patch panel was welded in. It was then primed with a self etching primer, and several coats of sandable primer, then three coats of bright orange paint. I then gave it to Danny on his 7th birthday a couple weeks ago! He now rides it every day, and I keep thinking if I got him a reel mower to pull behind it, I would never have to mow again!
