Congrats to our April 2013 Featured Tractor of the Month winners Adam and Michelle with their Bolens Ride-a-matic. This month had a lot of great nominations and made for some tough choices in tractors. The Bolens Ride-a-matic came out with the winning number of votes. Below is Michelle and Adam's story and winning tractor:

I am going to nominate my 1964 Economy Power King, in memory of my neighbor, Theresa Young. Back in 1963, a couple by the names of Bob and Tessie Young needed something to tend their property. They decided to purchase an Economy, and went with the Pow...

2nd Featured Tractor of the Month for March 2013

Feb 05, 2013 10:34 PM | mowinman2 in Featured Tractors

I would like to nominate my 197? Hesston 140 Front Runner. It was manufactured by the Hesston farm equipment company in Hesston, Kansas. They had a full line of attachments to go on them but were mainly used as grass cutting machines. Ive seen ads with them using ground engaging equipment like discs or plows. It was common to push or blow snow with them too.

I have been setting this up for the last 6 years or more. My neighbor's and people driving by really love it and look forward to seeing it each year. I had a yard sale this year and several people stopped and talked about how much they loved it when I put out my Christmas Santa garden tractor light show out front by the road!

Featured Tractor Of The Month Of December 2012

Nov 08, 2012 10:20 AM | David Brown in Featured Tractors

Ok, I guess I will nominate my Pond. This is a 1954 Pond that my dad bought new when he was building his house. At the time, his next door neighbor was trying to start a business and to my knowledge, dad was one of his first customers. Well there were no dealers for Pond tractors at that time as everything was sold out of the garage directly. As a result, the neighbor drove out to the shop, bought the tractor and sold it to dad when he returned.

Featured Tractor Of The Month Of November 2012

Oct 02, 2012 07:37 AM | Bud in Featured Tractors

Here is my 1966 Massey Ferguson MF10. It showed up for sale about 10 miles from me. When I went to look at it, it was under a tarp and buried in a couple feet of snow. It was missing the gas tank and was pretty sad looking. I bought it though and we managed to get it loaded. About a week after I bought it the previous owner called me up and said he had an extra set of wheels for the rear if I wanted them. He even brought them to me.

Featured Tractor Of The Month For October 2012

Sep 06, 2012 07:09 PM | AcreFarm in Featured Tractors

I picked this up at a tractor show back in 2007. The man I bought it from told me that it was put together by a local blacksmith, some 45 years ago. He used various parts, including a Wheel Horse frame, front axle & early Unidrive transaxle. Powe...

Featured Tractor Of The Month For September 2012

Once I saw "anything goes" for the Featured Tractor of the Month / September 2012, I knew I had to enter my Wheel Horse 855 "Drag-stor". Back in late 2007, while discussing hot rod tractors on the RedSquare Wheel Horse forum, I got the...

Featured Tractor Of The Month For August 2012

Jul 03, 2012 01:02 AM | whfan74 in Featured Tractors

Summer of 2011 I was traveling back from the Horse Barn located on my parents property with my daughter who was 5 years old at the time. Continuing home on our drive I hear from the back seat of the truck: "Daddy, I want a pink tractor!" Needless to say I almost drove off the road.  I quickly reached down and handed her the cell phone and told her that she needed to call her grandpa and tell him what she just told me.  He was just as suprised as I was!

Well, I know I'm new around here, but I would like to nominate my son Danny's 1952 Standard. This was the last year they were called Standard, after that they were called Bantam. This tractor was given to me by my dad 30 years ago. When he gave it to me it was all original, but after realizing I couldn't start it myself with the old fashoned wrap around rope start, he installed a starter/generator from a 60's model simplicity on it.

Featured Tractor of the Month for June 2012

Jun 01, 2012 03:33 PM | JakeKuhn in Featured Tractors

I would like to nominate my 61 wheel horse 401 that I restored. I got this tractor about 2 years ago and drove this thing just about every chance I could. It was in horrible shape and smoked very bad. Well that christmas I decided it was time to give her a new set of clothes. I want to say the day after new years we stripped it down and started on her.

I would like to nominate my 1978 Sears I call the "Fabricobble".

I bought this tractor out of a salvage yard in southwest Missouri in 2001.  It was missing the hood, all four wheels and tires, and some if the engine.  I didn't give much - or get much.
